Silly Boys are soooo much Fun!

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of these two brothers tonight. I took their pictures last year around this time, and although they have grown, they are still completely funny silly boys!

We went to the park in White Bear around 6:30...it was a gorgeous night.

Here is a little preview.

Thanks Mr. A and Mr. J you two are just a joy!

So Little boys come in all shapes and sizes, Shy and adventurous, full of surprises, With misshapen halos and mischievous grins, Small dirty faces and sweet, sticky chins. They'll keep you so busy and yet all the while Nothing can brighten the world like their smile. And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy Than a curious, active, and loveable boy. Unkown

Randomness and Photoshop

So it was Monday afternoon in downtown White Bear and there I was at the Cobblestone Cafe by myself eating my chef salad, no egg. I watched as people came and went by automobile, by bicycle, by foot.

I thought about many things as I sat there.

Why is it that somedays I pick lemonade over Cherry coke, when I like both equally?

Why does a shirt look good one day and then other days it just doesn't look right?

Why when I enter a restaraunt do I pick one seat over another (if I have a choice)?

When I eat, how is it that my brain decides in what order to eat things on my plate?

Why do some people eat their corn in rows and some in columns and some a mix?

It just got me thinking about the process our brain goes through to make a decision without us being conscious of it. Of course there are times when we make decisions consciously. Hmm...so what would happen if I was in the mood for Lemonade and I drank Cherry coke, would it taste gross?

These questions are really interesting to me.

Okay just a few other things...

On Friday, my mom and I picked up Joyce and brought her back to my moms. My mom addressed wedding invitations (she has nice handwriting) and I stuffed and Joyce just watched us. She seemed very content. Then we ate some dinner. My mom then gave Joyce a nice manicure, soaked her nails and gave em' a good scrubbin. She didn't mind it for the most part, but sometimes she'd give my mom "the look".

On a photography forum that I am a member of, there was an assignment for window light. Well, Chi-Chi was the only one home, so he quickly became my subject. I put my leopard print blanket behind him...and he left, so I had to go get him again and then he was a perfect little model. I just think it is a sweet picture.

Every once in awhile I get an itch to do some crazy photoshoppin'! I usually use myself for the practice, especially for the scary stuff, because I don't want to put anyone elses face through that.

More of a barbie look. I have always wanted pink hair...well atleast I get to pretend!

Sometimes it turns out sorta peaceful....
And sometimes it is just completely scary! I think it is funny. Matt loves seeing what I come up with!

We made our cake tasting appointment!! We called the travel agent to give us an idea of some honeymoon trips!! The hair and make-up appointments have been made!! I go for a trial hair/makeup in September!! The invitations are getting close to being sent out!!

Yay, the wedding is only 2.5 months away....wooohooo! Today we did the dishes together, we always feel better about them when we do them together!

You're Kidding me right?

So Matt and I go to the movie theater and we see "Tropic Thunder"...you know that R rated movie with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey and to my surprise Tom Cruise(bald with an extra 50 pounds and lots of chest hair...hahaha). Anyway, about half way through I hear this cry, not coming from the movie. Yep, someone brought their, I would say 2 year old to an R rated movie. Why? Why must people do that. For one it is a disturbance to those watching the movie but more importantly it exposes them to a ton of violence and bad language. I mean do the parents want to see the movie that bad and they just don't have a sitter??? We were quite disturbed by the whole thing!

On a lighter note I went to Como Park yesterday to visit the Butterfly Exhibit...but thunderstorms were coming so they weren't letting anyone in, bummer. But the rain hadn't started yet, so I was able to take a few pictures around the park while I was there. I will have to go back to see the butterflies!

Baby Boy has arrived!

Marianne and Dennis had their baby boy yesterday. Baby Jacob was born at 11:39 yesterday morning and he is just precious. He has a full head of brown hair and I think he really looks like Dennis. Another healthy baby born...what a blessing to the world!

Here is a picture of Dennis and Marianne so you can see how much baby Jacob looks like daddy!

He opened his eyes...I just wasn't sure that was going to happen during our visit, but I am so glad it did. He is just beautful!

...and proud papa uncovers him just for a moment so we can see his little legs

mama was quite tired from not sleeping, oh and of course labor, but she was so joyful. I hope she was atleast able to get some sleep last night.

Congratulations Dennis and Marianne!!

What else is going on....

I got this beautiful painting from my mother-in-law to be (Peg). I just love it. I love the classic/old feel of it and the way that the women are gathering around. Reminds me of the support that we have for our wedding and more importantly our marriage. The bottom of it reads" Irish Wedding Blessing: May Joy and Peace surround you both, contentment latch your door, and happiness be with you now, and God bless you evermore. How perfect! It will be cherished forever. We replace the monkey picture in our bedroom with it...looks great.

Last night Matt and I ate at Blue Heron (thanks Nicole for the recommendation). It was delicious. Matt had the nachos with a mix of beef and chicken...it was so tasty. I had the Cuban, which was a shredded pork sandwhich with Cajun spices, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. It sounded too intriguing not to try...and it did not disappoint!

We decided on music for the ceremony...Yay!!

Thats all for now!

Whole lotta Fun!

The end of the week was quite eventful and fun! On Thursday afternoon, I met my mom at the nursing home where my aunt Joyce is. Her room is up on the 2nd floor and they have a good size deck/patio off of it, so we sat out there for a little while. Then we noticed they were having a scrub sale in the parking lot...so we thought we'd do some shoppin'! My mom and I bought some new scrubs and Joyce just tagged along. Alzheimers is strange...sometimes I think she knows exactly who I am and sometimes I don't think she knows at all, but she seems content either way and that is a blessing.

After visiting with Joyce I did some shopping at Target and then headed to my moms to relax on the deck. I sat for awhile just enjoying the breeze and peacefulness of the country. Then I got the itch to take some pictures (big surprise huh?)

Have you ever noticed from certain angles Hydrangeas appear to be made from butterflies?

I just loved how the sunlight was falling on this hydrangea.
I headed up toward the silo and found this metal bar sticking out. Looks like a "T". I thought that would make a cool picture and I think it does.
Then I found this old rusty metal basket. Took some different pictures of it and then with this one picture did a variety of treatments to it in Photoshop. The top one is a regular edit, the middle is a tritone, and the last one is an acid wash. This picture reminds me of a dandelion when they are all fuzzy...maybe I am crazy, but that is what I see. And then I found the old green metal chair just sitting there, begging to be photographed...so I agreed!
Ahh....the vines growing up the silo....looked so cool! I love the shape they make!

Thursday night, Matt and I went to Marketfest in White Bear. Boy, does the town come alive. There were food vendors, art vendors, two bands, a car show, and pony rides!! We got there about a half hour before it was done, but we enjoyed some mini donuts and people watching. Good little excercise for Matts healing foot! Then we headed to the movie theatre to see "Step- Brothers". That movie is hilarious. We were both interested in seeing it but neither of us thought it was going to be as good as it was. Definately not a kid friendly movie though!

Friday during lunchtime I went to visit my Grandma and Grandpa. It is always so nice to see them. I feel very lucky to have them both at 91! Grandpa and I picked up some KFC...ooh was it yummy, haven't had a bucket of chicken in a long time. We had a great, but short, visit.
Friday night, it was off to momma's house. My brother Lance and sister in-law Juliana were there as well as my brother Brian and my Matt. We had dinner and looked at Lance and Juliana's Jamaica pictures. Looks so beautiful there! Then we congregated around the bonfire for a few hours and ate some smores. I have always been one to just stick the marshmallow in the fire and blow it out and eat it. I actually took the time to roast it on all sides without burning it...it was tasty and didn't take all that long. Maybe I will never go back to just sticking it in the fire!

Saturday brought another baby shower celebration...this time it was Rachels' turn! She just looks so good. She is due on September 9th. It will be exciting to find out if she has a boy or girl! Erin and Kim were great hostesses!

Here is Marianne (due Aug. 8th) and Rachel (due Sept. 9th).

Saturday night, Lance and Juliana and their friend Mike came over. The boys were going to Judas Priest at the myth...so we ordered up some pizza and watched "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" which was quite a funny movie. Juliana and I dropped off the boys and came back to the apartment and watched "Freedom Writers"...pretty sure that was my 4th time seeing it...I love that movie, an amazing and inspiring story.

Today I woke up late cuz I gotta work tonight, and Matt and I watched "The last King of Scottland"...another good movie. Can you tell we love movies or what. Anyway that is it for now. Look forward to hanging out with Emmy tomorrow night!

May the sun bring you new energy every day. May the moon softly restore you by night. May the rain wash away your worries. May the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.
