Wonderful Weekend

I had a really nice and busy weekend! Saturday was a beautiful day full of warm sunshine and love as Beth and Berent were united in marriage!

On Sunday, it was off to the fair for new food, new ideas and great people watching! ( Had to take my little camera with instead of hauling the big one out)


An albino reticulated python, this thing was neat! Matt looooves to see unusual animals, and this definately was.

I never thought the day would come when I would eat Chocolate dipped Bacon...and enjoy it. This was a brilliant combination...delicious!

mmmm...then we had some homemade tator tots...hashbrowns with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and green onion...deep fried and on-a-stick of course!


We also at Pizza on-a-stick, a tomato stuffed with chicken salad, and blackened steak.

Later on Sunday we headed to Lance and Juliana's house and had some drinks and played cards. Brian and Matt rocked out on the guitars and we reeled in Matts birthday at midnight.

Monday, Labor Day...was Matts B-day and we celebrated with his parents and a couple of his siblings. Mama Peg made Spaghetti and meatballs...mmm mmm good!

So are the days of my life....

What a week...a good week! Well I worked Wednesday night through Tuesday night. I was suppose to go to a fun lake party and visit with Matts sister and nephews on Saturday but unfortunately the apartment above me was getting new carpet...and it took 3 days to prepare and install...so I didn't get the best sleep. I was very sorry to miss Wendy (Matts sis) and the boys, because now they are back in Japan :( I wish they weren't so far away...the boys are growing up so fast and we are missing it. I hope they will be at the wedding! On Monday evening I met up with Emmy at Jakes (such yummy food!) and I got to see the pics from her Ultrasound. Baby is healthy...they are not finding out what it is...and I just love that. I think it is so exciting to wait and see if it is a boy or girl. There is very little in life that is a huge wonderful surprise. Ultrasounds are just so fascinating to me, I think I am going to be able to go with her to one of them...YAY!! Our Honeymoon

For our Honeymoon we went to Ochos Rios, Jamaica for a week! It was incredibly fun, relaxing, romantic and adventurous! His and Hers Pina Coladas View from our Balcony The Beach Some cheap sandals I bought for us. Thought they'd be cute but they were horribly uncomfortable, and they didn't leave good imprints in the sand. It is the thought that counts though, right?! This thing was cool...the little spikes were stiff when you would touch them but they would move around and look flexible...weird! I think this is a picture one of the waiters took...yah mon! Renew

A couple of weeks ago I got to be part of a great act of kindness; a renewing of an old picture and a reliving of memories. You see my Grandparents are a part of an old neighborhood. Years ago the neighbors would get together to celebrate many occasions, one of which was New Years. One of the guys from the neighborhood was a great illustrator and drew up a picture of "New Years 1962" and gave it to my Grandparents. This great illustration has been given a new life; taken from it's plastic bag, matted and framed and now hangs prominently in my Grandparents den. The idea to get it framed came from one of my brothers and then my dad took the idea and ran with it. To witness my Grandparents delight in this gift and to see them reliving the memories of yesteryear was so moving!! Here they are, 91 years old, married for 60+ years, and just recently in and out of the hospital for three months...and then before my eyes taken back 40 years.
